Wild and Scenic River Section Trips - Multi-Day |
|
The canyons charm lies in its thrilling whitewater stretches, alternated with mild riffles, placid pools, and narrow canyons edged by towering cliffs. The old growth Douglas fir forest, mixed with deciduous trees, creates a perfect river bank habitat for the abundant wildlife of the Rogue River Canyon. Otter, beaver, deer, Roosevelt elk, black bear, cougars, osprey, bald eagles, mallards, wood ducks, wild turkeys, and many others flourish in the wilderness river canyon.
Oar rafts, paddle rafts, and inflatable kayaks are all available on our Wild Section Trips. The whitewater on the Wild Section is rated class III - IV in the canyon with two world famous Class IV+ rapids: Blossom Bar Rapid and Mule Creek Canyon. Duration of the trips are from two to four days and cover nearly 40 miles by river. Participants may choose to camp out under the stars, stay in historic wilderness lodges, or combine one or two nights of camping with one night of lodging.

3-Day and 4-Day Camping Whitewater Raft Trips |
|
For an outdoor wilderness trip, you may wish to "rough it" by camping out under the stars. Camp trips with Rogue Wilderness are a gourmet camping experience. River bank camping provides a true wilderness experience free from the infringements of civilization. At the end of the rafting day, guides set up camp and become chefs in the preparation of delicious camp meals. You just relax and enjoy the scenic splendor of the wilderness corridor while all camp chores are expertly handled by our staff.
Trip begins at 8:00am. The "Wild and Scenic" portion of the Rogue River is a "permitted" entry system regulated by the Bureau Land Management and United States Forest Service. Due to the limited entry system and the popularity of these trips, early reservations are strongly recommended.

2-Day, 3-Day and 4-Day Wilderness Lodge Trips |
|
If you prefer the accouterments of civilization, historic wilderness lodging is available. Accessible only by river, these rustic lodges provide a wilderness experience that is quaintly civilized and speaks of the history of time gone by. After a day on the river, you can enjoy a hot shower, dine on a delicious family-style meal, and drift off to sleep in a comfortable bed. Our three day trip is our recommended lodge trip, allowing time for relaxation and exploration of side canyons and scenic hikes. There is even time for bank fishing for the famous Salmon and Steelhead of the Rogue River.
If you are limited in time, Rogue Wilderness offers a two day lodge trip through the Rogue River Canyon. You will travel the same distance as our longer trips, but you will go faster with little opportunity for exploration. The first day, approximately 26 river miles will be covered. Navigating a multitude of class III rapids and the two world famous class 4+ rapids makes this an exciting and challenging experience. Lodging is provided at one of the historic river canyon lodges.
Trips begin at 8:00am. The "Wild & Scenic" portion of the Rogue River is a "permitted" entry system regulated by the bureau of Land Management and United States Forest Service. Due to the limited entry system and the popularity of these trips, early reservations are strongly recommended.

3-Day and 4-Day Camping and Wilderness Lodge Trips |
|
Our camp/lodge trips are our most popular offering, combining the best of both worlds: camping and wilderness lodging. On a combination trip, you'll spend one or two nights in camp followed by one night at a famous wilderness lodge. Rogue Wilderness Adventures believes this is our best overall offering. There is a very special bonding that is experienced on camping trips, and because of the logistical placement of the lodges, we prefer to camp the first two night, dividing the trip equally between the days.
Trips begin at 8:00am. The "Wild and Scenic" portion of the Rogue River is a "permitted" entry system regulated by the bureau of Land Management and United States Forest Service. Due to the limited entry system and the popularity of these trips, early reservations are strongly recommended.

Relax with a late afternoon float through Hellgate Canyon. Frequently, the riverside wildlife awaken to play as twilight threatens the day; the raft floats silently downstream while families of otters frolic on the sandy beach and beavers emerge to make their rounds. We stop for beverage and a late afternoon swim in the magnificent Hellgate Canyon. Evening Float Trips begin at 5:00pm. Advance reservations required.
2-Day Recreation Section Lodge Trip |
Our two day lodge trip on the recreation section of the Rogue is a perfect first time experience and is well suited for people of all ages. The first day is a scenic float on a calm stretch of water. Silently gliding along this remote stretch of river, an abundance of wildlife enhances the day. Sunbathing turtles, ospreys diving for fish, great blue herons standing silently on the rocky shore, and bald eagles soaring high above the river are common sights. River otter, beaver, and deer are frequently seen as well as Chinook salmon swimming through the water as the river meanders along.
We arrive at one of the area's fine country inns early enough to enjoy side hikes, and possibly some fishing or bird watching. A gourmet family-style meal is served as twilight shades the day. After a leisurely breakfast on day two, the trip continues with some bigger white water. Two day recreation section lodge trips begin at 10:00am. Advance reservations required.
